Lorenzo Bellini Quartet

Lorenzo Bellini is a Vienna-based pianist, composer, arranger, and bandleader. Deeply influenced by New York pianists Mulgrew Miller and Kenny Kirkland, Bellini's sound blends harmonic depth with melodic clarity and a gospel-infused atmosphere. His music has been described as “vital, essential, pure, luminous, and deeply serious” (Garda Jazz Festival) and as “powerful, imaginative, innovative, bold, dynamic yet poetic, romantic, lyrical, and truly genuine” (Tiger Okoshi).

In 2021, he released his debut album of original compositions, Love Grain. In May 2025, his second album, Source, recorded with his Italian quartet, will be released by GleAM Records. He is currently working on a new album of compositions for Big Band, co-written with British bassist Chris Diamand.

Bellini graduated in 2021 from Berklee College of Music in Boston (USA), with a degree in Performance. In 2022, he received a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Music in London (UK), where he moved after four years in the United States, enrolling in the Master’s program in Jazz Piano.

As a bandleader, he leads two groups: the London-based Cloudy Peaks (with Kasper Rietkerk, Guy Dempsey, and Luke McCarthy), and his Italian quartet featuring Luca De Toni on guitar, Matteo Padoin on bass, and Andrea Dionisi on drums. With the latter, he won 1st prize in the 2023 Music 4 The Next Generation contest in Italy for the best composition, Source.

As a musical director and sideman, he has performed with artists such as Tiger Okoshi, Ni Maxine, Dennis Montgomery, Christelle Pascall, and Roberta Gentile.

As an educator, Lorenzo teaches at The Gospel University, a successful online educational platform founded by Gospel musician Vaughn Brathwaite
