"Ben Fitzpatrick is an Irish saxophonist, composer, and educator.
Born in Dublin, Ben moved to the United States at the age of nine.
Under the mentorship of saxophone greats Joe Temperley (Duke Ellington Orchestra) and Ted Nash (Thad Jones/Mel Lewis), Ben achieved significant success, performing twice as a soloist at Carnegie Hall. The New York Times mentioned Ben by name, praising his performance.
Ben has performed professionally across the US and is proud to have worked with and learned from legendary artists such as Jimmy Heath, Jimmy Greene, Bob Mintzer, Dick Oatts, and Wynton Marsalis. Their influence continues to inspire him to reach his full potential as a musician. After his study in the USA, he continued his studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
He now resides in Cologne, Germany where he is a fixed member of the WDR Big Band and a Vertretungs Professor for saxophone at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen."
