George Hytiroglou is a Rotterdam based jazz guitarist. For the past two years he has been leading his own project for which he has composed and arranged all original material. His music fits in the post-bop idiom and draws a lot of inspiration from his favorite artists such as Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane etc. In his compositions George pays extra attention to detail when it comes to writing counter melodies for the horns whilst also allowing room for spontaneity. His main project is a sextet however, he has also adapted his dense arrangements into a trio setting allowing him to reach out to smaller venues.

About the band

With his sextet he has competed in the finals of the Erasmus Jazz Prize 2025 and the Laren Jazz Festival 2024.
